Ohio Men’s Basketball Adds Bosnian Forward Dusan Makitan to the Roster

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio men's basketball team has added Bosnian forward Dusan Makitan to the roster for the 2026-27 season, head coach Jeff Boals announced today (April 15). 

"Dušan is a high motor forward who competes and plays hard," Boals said. "He leads his league and rebounding, averaging almost four offensive rebounds a game. His experience and motor will help make an immediate impact."

The 6-8 forward comes to Ohio after winning two league titles in the last two seasons, the first in 2024-25 with Vrsac and again in 2025-26 with Borac.  

Makitan most recently played with Borac-WWIN in Bosnia – Division I. Through 23 games, Makitan averaged 15.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists during the 2025-26 season. He shot 61 percent from the field, 22.9 percent from three and 60.7 percent from the line, while averaging 32.3 minutes on the court. 

During the 2025-26 ABA League season, Makitan averaged 13.9 points, while shooting 54.4 percent from the field, while averaging 8.3 rebounds a game. 

Makitan also represented Bosnia in the 2025-26 FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers.
