PITTSBURGH—The Ohio Bobcats baseball team (2-11, 0-0 MAC) dropped a non-conference game to Pittsburgh (9-2, 0-0 ACC) by a score of 16-2 on Wednesday afternoon (Mar. 4). The game was called after the seventh inning via the run rule.
Â
On the hill, senior relief pitcher Aaron Blum (Cincinnati, Ohio) gave the Bobcats two solid innings, allowing one run on two hits.
Â
At the plate, redshirt junior infielder Cam Bryant (Miamisburg, Ohio) went 1-for-4 with a two-RBI double in the fifth inning.
Â
The Panthers got on the board in the first inning with a grand slam, and added another five runs in the bottom of the third.
Â
Ohio would answer back with two outs in the top of the fifth, as senior infielder Reese Harmon (Colombus, Ind.) singled to right field to kickstart the rally. After senior outfielder Cam Hill (Chicago, Ill.) reached on an error, Cam Bryant doubled to right field, scoring Harmon and Hill.
Â
Pitt would add another five runs in the bottom of the sixth, and after neither team scored in the seventh the game was called via the run rule.
Â
The Bobcats will return to action this Friday, March 6, hosting Northern Illinois in the first of a three game series at Bob Wren Field. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. ET, and will be streaming on ESPN+.
