BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Ohio women's track & field team concluded day one of the Indiana Invitational on Friday, Jan. 16.
One of the highlights of the day was freshman
Alyvia Mentlow's performance in the women's 200m. In her first time racing the event collegiately, Mentlow placed eighth with an impressive time of 24.97. Mentlow's time is the fourth-fastest indoor time in program history.
Ohio kicked off the meet with the women's weight throw. Freshman
Aubree Beery (Lancaster, Ohio) placed eighth in the event with a personal-best mark of 17.27 meters (56-8).
Freshmen
Alexys Sterling and
Kewogo Bendick competed in the women's long jump. Sterling placed sixth (5.43m/17-9.75) and Bendick finished in seventh place (5.18m/17-0).
Ohio's distance medley relay team, comprised of sophomore
Mairin O'Brien (Lewis Center, Ohio), sophomore
Ava Kincaid (Perrysburg, Ohio), sophomore
Jaclyn Garvey (Grand Blanc, Mich.) and senior Sara Dougman (South Lebanon, Ohio), placed third with a time of 11:57.20.
The Bobcats will be back in action for day two of the Indiana Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 17.
