ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio men's basketball team (10-7, 4-1 MAC) is back on the road this week starting on Tuesday, Jan. 13 when the Bobcats head to Toledo, Ohio to take on the Toledo Rockets (9-7, 3-1 MAC). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET inside Savage Arena and can be seen on ESPN+.

The Bobcats' matchup can also be heard on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield, presented by Holzer Health System. Jason Toy begins his second season on the mic for the Bobcats and will be joined by veteran college basketball analyst Dave Cecutti. WXTQ (Power 105) in Athens returns as the 11-station net- work's flagship and can be heard on the Varsity Network App.

Toledo is currently 9-7 overall and 3-1 in MAC play. Toledo is coming off an 87-73 loss at home against Miami on Friday night. 

Overall, Toledo averages 81.6 points per game, while shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 33.5 percent from three and 77.3 percent from the line. Meanwhile, opponents are averaging 77.3 points per game, while shooting 47.7 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from three and 68.1 percent from the line. 

Toledo is averaging 35.8 rebounds, 16.0 assists, 7.6 steals and 2.9 blocks a game, while forcing opponents to turn the ball over an average of 31.8 times a game, scoring 16.5 points off them. Toledo opponents are averaging 35.2 rebounds, 15.9 assists, 6.0 steals and 4.0 blocks a game, while forcing 10.8 turnovers a contest, scoring 12.2 points off them. 

Leading Toledo is Sonny Wilson with 17.1 points and 4.4 assists a game, while shooting 49.0 percent from the field. Leroy Blyden, Jr. adds 14.9 points a game and 3.1 rebounds, while shooting 41.1 percent from the field, 38.8 percent from three and 85.5 percent from the line, while Sean Craig averages 13.0 points and 8.1 rebounds a contest.

Ohio is averaging 78.1 points a game, while shooting 47.5 percent from the field, 30.2 percent from three and 68.0 percent from the line. The Bobcats also add 35.1 rebounds a game, while dishing out 14.2 assists and recording 7.0 steals a contest. Ohio is also forcing opponents to turn the ball over 13.1 times a game, scoring on average 15.5 points off them. 

Meanwhile, Ohio opponents are averaging 75.8 points a game, while shooting 44.3 percent from the field, 34.4 percent from three and 72.2 percent from the line. Opponents are averaging 35.8 rebounds, 13.4 assists and 6.9 steals a game, while forcing Ohio to turn the ball over an average of 12.4 times a game, while scoring on average 12.9 points off them.

Senior forward Aidan Hadaway averages 13.5 points and a team-leading 7.8 rebounds a game, while shooting 46.8 percent from the field, while redshirt junior froward Javan Simmons adds 13.1 points and 4.9 rebounds, while shooting 51.0 percent from the field.

Jackson Paveletzke led Ohio with a game-high 28 points, going 9-of-16 from the field, 1-of-3 from three and 9-of-11 from the line, while grabbing three rebounds and dishing out three assists. Aidan Hadaway, in his return after being injured on Jan. 21, scored seven points and grabbed eight rebounds. 

Javan Simmons, who was then a member of the Rockets, finished the game with 10 points and 11 rebounds. 

MARCH TO 1,000
On Jan, 6, 2026 against UMass, redshirt junior forward Javan Simmons scored his 1,000th career point, becoming the 49th member of the 1,000-point club for the Bobcats. 

Simmons is also the ninth Bobcat to do so under Jeff Boals.  

OHIO IN THE MAC
Senior guard Jackson Paveletzke is currently seventh in the conference in scoring (16.9), fourth in assists (4.8) and first in minutes (35.7). 

Senior forward Aidan Hadaway is third in the league in rebounding (7.8).

Freshman guard JJ Kelly is eighth in the MAC in field goal percentage (.586). 

Senior guard Ajay Sheldon is fifth in the MAC in steals (1.8). 

OHIO IN NET
The Bobcats are currently ranked 187 in the latest NET rankings, with Toledo ranked above them at 170. 

Akron leads the conference in NET this week at 48. 

BOBCATS IN THE NCAA
Senior guard Jackson Paveletzke is currently 17th in the nation in minutes per game, 95th in assists, 87th in assists per game and 92nd in field goal percentage. 

Senior forward Aidan Hadaway is 67th in rebounds, 55th in defensive rebounds per game, and 84th in rebounds per game. He is also 81st in double doubles. 

Redshirt junior forward Javan Simmons is 74th in the nation in free throw attempts. 

Senior guard Ajay Sheldon is 88th in the NCAA in steals.

MAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior guard Jackson Paveletzke as named the MAC Player of the Week on Jan. 12 for his performance the week of Jan. 5. 

Overall, Paveletzke averaged 16.5 points per game, while recording 5.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists per game. He shot 55.6 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from three, and 78.6 percent from the charity stripe, while also averaging 1.0 steals per game.
