Martin Named MAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

CLEVELAND – Ohio women's cross country senior Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) has been named the Mid-American Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday.

Martin was Ohio's overall top performer at the George Dales Invitational (9/19). She won the women's 6k race by 12 seconds, placing first with a time of 21:02.4. Martin's performance helped the Ohio women's cross country team to its second team win of the season. Ohio placed first overall with 22 points. The Bobcats outperformed four conference opponents including Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Ball State and Eastern Michigan.

Martin and the Bobcats will be back in action at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Oct. 3.
