Ohio Athletics Announces Kermit Blosser Hall of Fame Class of 2025

ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio Athletics has announced the Kermit Blosser Ohio Athletics Hall of Fame class of 2025 on Tuesday, Sept. 23. This year's class includes the 2004 and 2005 Volleyball teams, Cody Walters (Wrestling, 2011-16), Rudy Rott (Baseball, 2016-19) and Carime Reinhart (Women's XC/T&F, 2004-08).
 
The Hall of Fame inductees will be recognized during football's homecoming game against Northern Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 18.
 
2004 & 2005 Volleyball Teams
The 2004 and 2005 Ohio volleyball teams were at the forefront of the program's eight years of consecutive success in conference play and on the national level. In 2004 and 2005, the volleyball team compiled a 62-6 overall, undefeated 32-0 conference record, back-to-back MAC Regular Season and MAC Tournament titles. Ohio's success on the conference level granted both teams the opportunity to compete in the 2004 and 2005 NCAA Tournament.
 
The 2004 and 2005 volleyball teams set several program records including season-high kills, hitting percentage, opponent hitting percentage and assists. The two teams combined a total of two AVCA All-Americans, two MAC Players of the Year, one MAC Freshman of the Year, two MAC Tournament MVP's, 10 All-MAC honorees, three MAC All-Freshman Team honorees and four MAC All-Tournament Team honorees. Head coach Geoff Carlston was named MAC Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2005 after leading his teams to successful seasons.
 
Cody Walters '16 - Wrestling
Cody Walters, an Ohio wrestling team member from 2011-16, is one of the most decorated athletes in program history. Walters kicked off his career with being named the 2013 MAC Freshman of the Year. He is a three-time MAC Champion, winning the title in 2013, 2014 and 2015. The three-time team captain is a four-time NCAA qualifier. Walters was named an NCAA All-American twice in his career, placing eighth in 2013 and seventh in 2016. Walters is also a four-time Academic All-American. The 2015 Midlands Champion set a single season record of 39 wins.
 
Walters returned to Ohio University as an assistant coach for the wrestling program prior to the 2022-23 season.
 
Rudy Rott '19 – Baseball:
Rudy Rott, a member of the Ohio baseball team from 2016-19, played in every game over his four-year career and remains one of the most talented players in program history. After being named to the 2016 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team, Rott helped the team to a MAC Championship title. He was two-time All-MAC Defensive Team honoree and two-time All-MAC First Team honoree. Rott earned back-to-back MAC Player of the Year honors in 2018 and 2019. During his senior season, Rott earned a slew of awards and honors including being named to 2019 National Baseball Coaches Association All-American and All-Region teams. He was also awarded the MAC Presidents Medal of Excellence.
 
Rott was a three-time Academic All-MAC honoree, two-time MAC Commissioner Award honoree and two-time MAC Honor Roll member. Prior to graduating, he was awarded the Ohio Signature Award, Achievement Scholarship, Ohio Distinction Scholarship and Ohio Trustee Award. Rott graduated Cum Laude from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management with a minor in Finance.
 
Carime Reinhart '08 - Women's Cross Country/Track & Field
Carime Reinhart was a notable performer for the Ohio women's cross country and track & field team from 2004-2008. Reinhart led the women's cross country to back-to-back MAC Championship titles and won the individual title at the 2006 MAC Cross Country Championships. During her senior season, Reinhart was named the Most Valuable Performer for the women's cross country team. In 2007, she won the women's 10,000 meters at the MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships and broke the indoor 3,000 meters school record. Throughout her track & field career at Ohio, Reinhart medaled in the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters several time at the MAC Indoor & Outdoor Championships.
 
Reinhart graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in Hearing, Speech and Language Sciences with a minor in Psychology. In 2024, Reinhart was inducted in the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country (OATCCC) Hall of Fame.
