COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio women's track & field team concluded the first day of competition of the Jesse Owens Classic with several personal best performances on Friday, May 2.
Junior
Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) was Ohio's top performer of the day in the women's 1500m. Martin recorded the fifth fastest time in program history with a PR of 4:29.94. Freshman
Kaitlyn Stewart (Floyd Knobs, Ind.) also recorded a PR, finishing with a time of 4:30.25.
Two Bobcats competed in the women's 400m hurdles. Freshman
Ava Kincaid (Perrysburg, Ohio) placed seventh with a PR of 1:02.00. Freshman
Elisabeth Franczyk (Washington, Pa.) recorded a PR of 1:04.06.
Sophomore
Gracie Smith (Grove City, Ohio) and freshman
Emma Hayes (Pomeroy, Ohio) competed in the women's javelin. Smith recorded a mark of 30.25 meters (99-3) and Hayes threw a PR of 28.38 meters (93-1).
Junior
Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) concluded the day in the women's 5,000 meters. Mason placed fourth with a time of 16:48.16.
The Bobcats will be back in action at the Jesse Owens Classic on Saturday, May 3.
