MUNCIE, Ind. – This afternoon (Apr. 20), the Ohio Women's Golf team wrapped up the first round at the 2025 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Women's Golf Championships. The Bobcats had a team score of 301 (+13), finishing the round in third place. Individually, sophomore Morgan Rodgers (Centerville, Ohio) leads the green and white in a tie for 5th place.
Kent State leads the tournament after the first day with a score of 289 (+1). The tournament is led by Ball State golfer Jasmine Driscoll, who shot 67 (-5) with Kent State student-athlete Leon Takagi following closely behind in second with 71 (-1).
The tournament is taking place at Delaware Country Club where the course is set to 6,438 yards and a par of 70.
Rodgers was the leading golfer for Ohio on the day, shooting a 72 (E) to earn her spot in the top-5. She was helped by strong performances with shooting four holes under par.
After a round of 73 (+1), junior Mackenzie McRee (Tucson, Ariz.) finds herself in a tie for 9th. Consistently played with 10 pars, and four birdies, helping McRee finish in the top-10.
Sophomore Zoe Luebbers (Cincinnati, Ohio) finished in a tie for 23rd after the first round. Luebbers shot an 76 (+4), but had significant improvement on the back nine closing out the round with the her third birdie of the day.
Finding herself in a tie for 36th, senior Sydney Longstreth (Carmel, Ind.) finished her opening round with a score of 80 (+8). The senior was impressive on par fours, remaining even par through three holes.
Rounding it out for the Bobcats was freshman Ally Turner (Miamisburg, Ohio). Turner shot an 94 (+22) on the day, finishing in 50th after the opening round.
The second round of the 2024 MAC Women's Golf Championships will resume tomorrow (Apr. 21) at 9:30 a.m.
