Ohio Women's Track & Field Experiences Success at the Bryan Clay Invitational

AZUSA, Calif. – The Ohio women's track & field team concluded three days of competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday, April 18.
Wednesday Recap:
Junior Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) kicked off competition for Ohio in the women's 10,000 meter (Open B). Mason finished 26th with a time of 35:47.29. Later that night, junior Leila Boussedra (Worthington, Ohio) raced in invite two of the women's 10,000 meters. Boussedra finished 24th with a time of 35:31.51.
Thursday Recap:
Ohio kicked off day two of competition with the women's 800m. Junior Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio) placed 15th in the women's 800m open with a PR of 2:11.16. Sophomore Ellie Greenwell (Park Hills, Ky.) and freshman Kaitlyn Stewart (Floyd Knobs, Ind.) raced in the women's 800m invite. Greenwell recorded a time of 2:10.81 and Stewart ran a PR of 2:10.98.
Ohio concluded day two with junior Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) in heat four of the women's 5,000 meters open. Martin (16:14.61) placed eighth, recording a new PR and the second-fastest outdoor time in program history.
Friday Recap:
Ohio started the final day of competition with the sprints and hurdles events. Senior Taja Booker (Simpsonville, S.C.) placed 27th in the women's 100m (12.07) and 15th in the women's 200m (24.43), winning her heat in both events. Freshman Ava Kincaid (Perrysburg, Ohio) finished 35th in the women's 400m hurdles (1:03.55).
In the women's 1500m open, Greenwell took fourth in her heat with a time of 4:27.52. Stewart and Doughman both recorded new PR's. Stewart ran a PR of 4:30.80 and Doughman ran a PR of 4:33.52.
The Bobcats will be back in action at the Jesse Owens Classic on Friday, May 2.
