Ohio Swim and Dive Adds Seven Athletes for the 2026-2027 Season

ATHENS, Ohio – Head Swimming Coach Mason Norman and Diving Coach Talisa Lemke are excited to sign seven athletes to their roster for the 2026-2027 season. Harper Eakin, Gabi Freeman, Molly Gonzalez, Anna Gregg, Nora Kunsman, Josie Marino, and Maggie Strange will be joining the Bobcats in the pool next fall.

Harper Eakin

Eakin is a native of Bloomington, Indiana, and attended Bloomington High School, where she swam for four years and was a three-time letterwinner. Eakin comes to Athens as a three-time Conference Champion in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle (2023-2025), a three-time Sectional Champion in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle (2023-2025), and a two-time State Finalist in the 500-yard freestyle. Her team was also a three-time Conference and Sectional Champion. Eakin was the vice-president of her class and had a 4.0 GPA in 2023 and 2025. She was able to swim club for the past eight years with the Indiana Swim Club.

Eakin is the daughter of Jason and Annie Eakin and has one little brother, Ricky. Her mother, Annie, swam at Ball State University and at North Carolina State University. In her free time, Eakin likes to cook, bake, do nails, and read. While at Ohio, Eakin plans to major in Finance, with her future career still undecided.

Gabi Freeman

Freeman is a Bedlington, United Kingdom native and attended St. Benet Biscop Catholic Academy in the United Kingdom. She has been swimming for the past 10 years and was named the Newcastle Sports Award – Rising Star in 2023. Freeman has won multiple academic awards and enjoys volunteering for her high school's sports clubs.

Freeman is the daughter of Mark and Rebecca Freeman and has two siblings, sister Libby and brother Alex. In her free time, Freeman enjoys coaching and teaching people how to swim, singing, and dancing. While studying at Ohio, she plans to major in Retail and Fashion Design with minors in Sales and Real Estate, with aspirations of becoming a Celebrity Fashion Stylist.

Molly Gonzalez

Gonzalez is a four-year varsity letter-winning swimmer from Oswego East High School and was captain of her team in 2025. She placed eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke at the NCSA competition in the summer of 2025, with a time of 2:37.46. Gonzalez has been swimming for the Academy Bullets for the past four years and is a four-time National Women's Champion alongside her teammates. Gonzalez was named a Scholastic All-American and a CSCAA All-American in 2025, has been on the High Honor Roll the past four years, and has earned 4.0 certificates the past three years.

Gonzalez is a native of Aurora, Illinois, and is the daughter of Carlos and Liz Gonzalez. She has one older brother named Justin, who is a member of the Illinois State University Hockey Team. In her free time, Gonzalez loves to bake, cook, and volunteer for numerous events. At Ohio, Gonzalez plans to major in Chemistry with future plans of becoming an Anesthesiologist.

Anna Gregg

Gregg is a four-year varsity swimmer from Talawanda High School. Gregg was the team MVP in 2025 and has been a state qualifier for the past three seasons. She has made the state championship in five individual events over her career, with hopes to add more events this season. During her career at Talawanda High School, Gregg has been a part of the team that has won the SWOC championship the last three seasons. She has been on the honor roll all four years and has been a member of the National Honor Society for the past two years. Gregg was a member of the Miami University Aquatic Swim Club, Makos, for the past 12 years.  

Gregg is a native of Camden, Ohio, and is the daughter of Jason and Lindsey Gregg, and has one brother, Maxx. In her free time, Gregg volunteers with Camp Invention, Best Buddies, and YIT. She enjoys taking care of her animals, baking, doing LEGOs, crafts, playing video games, and listening to music. At Ohio, Gregg plans to major in Speech, Language, and Hearing, to become a Speech Language Pathologist.

Nora Kunsman

Kunsman, a native of Bryan, Ohio, was a four-year letter winner in both swimming and volleyball and was a three-year MVP for the swim team. While at Bryan High School, Kunsman was the 2025 State-Runner Up in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle and was named to First-Team All-Ohio. She was also the 2025 District and League Champion in the 50-yard freestyle, the 2025 District Champion in the 100-yard freestyle, and the League Champion in the 100-yard backstroke. Kunsman holds the Sectional record in the 50-yard freestyle and is the school recordholder in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle. In 2024, Kunsman was a state finalist in the 50-yard freestyle, which earned her First-Team All-Ohio honors and qualified her for the state competition in the 100-yard freestyle, earning her Second-Team All-Ohio. She was the District Champion in the 50-yard freestyle.  In 2024, Kunsman set the record in the 50-yard freestyle at the Northwest Ohio Classic, the 100-yard backstroke at the Bluffton Invitational, and the school record in the 100-yard backstroke. In 2023, she qualified for the state meet in the 50-yard freestyle and earned Second-Team All-Ohio honors. Over her volleyball career, she earned All-District honors and was the team captain in 2025. Kunsman is a four-year Scholar Athlete award winner, was class president all four years of high school, and is the National Honor Society President. Most recently, Kunsman has trained with USA Swimming, but previously swam for the Bryan Bearacudas for over 12 years.

Kunsman is the daughter of Jason and Meg Kunsman and has three sisters, Paige, Annie, and Claire. Kunsman has been a part of multiple activities, such as FCA, Interact Volunteer Club, EPIC Youth Group, Spanish Club, and her Church Choir. In her free time, she likes to ski, hike, and go camping. While at Ohio, Kunsman plans to major in Marketing and pursue a career in the Business Sports Marketing field.

Josie Marino

Marino is a four-year varsity swimmer from Ridgewood High School. While at Ridgewood, Marino was named to the First-Team Bergen County in 2024, was named the team's MVP in 2024, and earned the Keith Cook Leadership Award. She was also the 2024 Big North Champion in the 500-yard freestyle and was a part of the RHS team that was crowned Sectional Champions in 2024. For her efforts outside of the pool, Marino was named a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American in 2025. Marino most recently swam for the Scarlet Aquatics club and previously swam for the Wyckoff YMCA Sharks.

Marino is a native of Ridgewood, New Jersey, and is the daughter of Mark and Nina Marino. She has one sibling, a younger sister named Abby. In her free time, Marino volunteers as a swim instructor for underprivileged children and volunteers at Oasis Swim Camp. With her interest in fashion design, Marino plans to study Entrepreneurship at Ohio, with the hope of becoming a Fashion Entrepreneur.

Maggie Strange

Strange, a native of Moultrie, Georgia, attended Colquitt County High School and was a four-year letter-winning diver. Strange was a top 10 diver in Georgia in 2023, 2024, and 2025, and placed ninth overall at Nations (USA Diving) in 2022. She was also a member of her high school team that has won the state championship the past three seasons. Strange has competed for Moss Farms Diving for the past 10 years and has competed in 51 dive meets across her career. She has been an honor student throughout high school and is involved in 4-H, where she shows livestock.

Strange is the daughter of Cam and Susie Strange and has one brother, Cameron. Her father, Cam, was a baseball student athlete at Georgia Southwestern University. When she is not diving, Strange likes to shop, do Pilates, show pigs, and play pickleball. While at Ohio, Strange plans to major in Entrepreneurship and minor in fashion. With her degree, she has hopes of becoming a personal shopper, a stylist, or a designer.
