Ohio Women's Track & Field Wins DMR on Day 1 of the Crossroads of America Invite

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Ohio women's track & field team concluded its first day of competition at the Crossroads of America Invitational on Friday, Jan. 24.
One of the major highlights of the day was Ohio's first-place finish in the women's distance medley relay. Freshman Kaitlyn Stewart (Floyd Knobs, Ind.), senior Taja Booker (Simpsonville, S.C.), junior Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio) and sophomore Ellie Greenwell (Park Hills, Ky.) recorded a time of 11:50.38.
Ohio also had several top performers in the women's 3,000 meters, led by senior Kelsi Harris' (Liberty Township, Ohio) third place and personal-best time of 9:31.43. Junior Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) also ran a personal-best time of 9:38.36, placing fifth in the event. Junior Leila Boussedra (Worthington, Ohio) placed seventh (9:43.51) and junior Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) placed 10th (9:49.64).
Sophomore Elinor Shuttleworth (Beavercreek, Ohio) and freshman Jaclyn Garvey (Grand Blanc, Mich.) competed in the women's 600m. Shuttleworth finished in 19th (1:41.26) followed by Garvey in 20th place (1:43.19).
Sophomore Gracie Smith (Grove City, Ohio) raced in the 60m hurdle preliminaries. Smith finished 26th with a time of 9.30.
The Bobcats will be back in action for day two of the Crossroads of America Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 25.
