NASHPORT, Ohio – The Ohio Men's Golf team was back on the road for the Virtues Intercollegiate hosted by Bowling Green Sept. 28-29 at the Virtues Golf Club. Due to the weather the tournament was shortened to 36 holes. The Bobcats finished in eighth place with an overall score of 585 (+9), while junior Nathanial Gray Lamont (Guelph, Ontario) placed 13th.
Michigan won the event, followed by James Madison (-14), Eastern Michigan (-1) and Marshall (+3).
As a team, Ohio opened the first round with a low of 288, and concluded the second and final round with a 297.
Individually, Gray Lamont (Guelph, Ontario) led the Bobcats, recording rounds of 69 and 74, for a total tournament score of 143 (-1) and tying for 13th place.
Senior
Sam Hogan (Burlington, Canada) and junior
Will Kates (Centennial, Colorado) were next, both in a tie for 22nd. Hogan shot a 72 and 73 for a total of 145 (+1). Hogan finished one-over, with scores of 70 and 75 for an overall total of 145.
Graduate Student
Jack Neville (Terrace Park, Ohio) finished tied 63rd overall. He opened the tournament with a 77, before shooting the second-round score of 75, recording a total tournament score of 152 (+8). Finally, junior
Jack O'Donnell (Powell, Ohio), placed 70th (78+76=154) and finished ten-over.
The Bobcats will be back in action Oct. 14-15 at the RedHawk Intercollegiate. The two day event is hosted by Miami at the Pittsburgh Field Club in Pittsburgh, Penn.
