ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio women's track and field team concluded its first day of competition of the weekend at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational and Marshall Invitational on Friday, Feb. 9.
BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational
Freshman
Ellie Greenwell raced (Park Hills, Ky.) against a large pool of athletes in the women's 800m and finished with a time of 2:13.70. Sophomore
Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio) ran a personal-best time of 4:57.59 in the women's mile.
Sophomores
Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) and
Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) competed in the women's 3,000 meters. Mason finished in 74
th place with a personal-best time of 9:31.84 and Martin recorded a time of 10:16.87.
Junior
Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) and sophomore
Leila Boussedra (Worthington, Ohio) represented Ohio in the women's 5,000 meters. Both athletes recorded personal-best times with Harris (16:36.96) placing 66
th and Boussedra (16:56.71) finishing in 82
nd place.
Marshall Invitational
Ohio had three athletes competed in the women's weight throw. Junior
Jasmine Correa (Holland, Mich.) placed eighth with a personal-best mark of 15.12 meters (49-7.25), senior
Jordan Baith (Seville, Ohio) recorded a mark of 13.75 meters (45-1.50) and junior
Millie Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) finished with a mark of 12.54 meters (41-1.75).
Freshman
Emilee Baumann (Powell, Ohio) placed second in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.50 meters (11-5.75).
The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 10 for day two of the Marshall Invitational. Field events will start at 10:30 a.m. followed by track events at 11 a.m.
