YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Ohio women's track and field's first day of competition at the Mid-American Indoor Championships was highlighted by sophomore
Alyssa Mason's (Dublin, Ohio) first-place performance in the mile preliminaries. Mason qualified for the finals of the event with a time of 4:57.92.
Junior
Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) was another top performer for Ohio, scoring the Bobcats with a fourth place and personal-best time of 16:33.95 in the 5,000 meters. Sophomore
Leila Boussedra (Worthington, Ohio; 16:56.36) and graduate student
Carina Weaver (Lexington, Ohio; 17:36.46) also recorded personal-best times in the events.
The distance medley relay team comprised of sophomore
Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio), freshman
Ella Baker (Amherst, Ohio), freshman
Ellie Greenwell (Park Hills, Ky.) and Mason placed fourth overall with a time of 11:42.27.
The Bobcats will continue competition at the MAC Indoor Championships on Saturday, Feb. 23.
