ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio track and field team concluded its home meet, The Cherry Blossom Invitational, on Saturday (April 15) at Goldsberry Track.

In the 3000m steeplechase, freshman Jenna Razavi (Medina, Ohio) took second in 11:27.98 while freshman Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio) placed third with a time of 11:37.69. The Bobcat team of Knierim, Stewart, Betzing, and Stephens, also finished third in the 4x100m, clocking a season best 47.87.

Fifth year Madelyn Bartolone (Massillon, Ohio) secured first with a 4:42.82, while sophomore Sarah Liederbach (Petoskey, Ohio) finished second in 4:45.47. Senior Carina Weaver (Lexington, Ohio) placed fourth running 4:46.90 and junior Kenna Loveless (Tallmadge, Ohio) placed seventh, crossing the finish line in 4:50.18.

Junior Imani Brown (Crown Point, Ind.) grabbed a pair of second-place finishes with a season best 58.69 in 400m and 1.60m mark in the high jump. Freshman Ashley Long (Hilliard, Ohio) also competed in the 400m, placing sixth and clocking a 1:01.99.

Freshman Josie Knierim (McConnelsville, Ohio) took fifth in the 100m with a time of 12.27. Redshirt senior Taniah Stephens (Erie, Pa.) tied for seventh running a personal best 12.34 while freshman Maggie Stewart (Worthington, Ohio) ran 12.66.

Knierim, Stewart, and Long also competed in the 200m, clocking 25.13, 26,29, and 26.88 with Knierim placing fifth. Additionally, Stewart clocked personal records in both the 100m and 200m.

Fifth year Stephanie Pierce (Fairborn, Ohio) finished second in the 800m, clocking her second fastest time and moving up to third in the MAC this season. Pierce ran a 2:10.84, while Bartolone took seventh in 2:20.22.

In the 3000, freshman Morgan Roth (Brunswick, Ohio) took third for the Bobcats with a time of 10:19.79. Junior Bailey Roberts (North Kingsville, Ohio) and sophomore Avril Moyer (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) also competed, placing sixth and eighth, running a 10:36.22 and 10:45.27.

In the field events, sophomore Michaela Frey (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) finished fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.20m. Stephens made her collegiate debut in the long jump, placing sixth with a jump of 5.04m, while junior Emily McKenzie (Dillsburg, Pa.) eighth in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump with marks of 4.95m and 11.44m.

Senior Kassidy Betzing (Pomeroy, Ohio) grabbed second in the long jump with a personal record of 5.51m before placing fifth in javelin with another personal best of 33.10m. Fifth year Autumn Mohan (Chillicothe, Ohio) and junior Jordan Baith (Seville, Ohio) also competed, recording throws of 25.17m and 22.91m.

Mohan, Baith, and sophomore Millie Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) all competed in shot put, discus, and hammer as well. Mohan finished third in shot put with a mark of 13.76m with Ryan in fourth at 12.57m and Baith recording 10.76m. In discus, Mohan placed fourth, throwing 41.15m, while Baith and Ryan followed in fifth and eighth with 40.81m and 35.72m throws. Mohan and Baith grabbed seventh and eighth in hammer, with throws of 45.86 and 44.69m, while Ryan threw 36.17m.

Ohio would again like to recognize Madelyn Bartolone, Alyssa Christian, Ethan Frisone, Autumn Mohan, and Stephanie Pierce for their dedication and contribution to the Ohio running programs. These athletes encapsulates what it means to be a Bobcat and will continue to strive for greatness in their chosen careers. 

Up next, Ohio will travel to Ohio State to compete in the Jesse Owens Track Classic on April 21.
