ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio men's basketball team (2-1) heads to Nassau, The Bahamas this week for the 2023 Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship. The three-day MTE will take place Nov. 24-26 at th the Baha Mar Convention, Arts & Entertainment Center. The Bobcats begin the weekend on Friday, Nov. 24 when they take on George Washington (4-0). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. The entire weekend can be seen on FloHoops where Jonny Wincott and Kevin Brown will have the call.
The Bobcats' matchup can also be heard on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield with Sam Hyman on the call. WXTQ (Power 105) in Athens returns as the 11-station network's flagship.

• This is the seventh all-time meeting between Ohio and George Washington.
• The all-time series against George Washington and Ohio is tied at 3-3.

SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
George Washington is 4-0 to open the season and is coming off a 79-67 win over New Hampshire on Nov. 18.
Overall, George Washington averages 83.5 points a game, while shooting .465 from the field, .384 from three and .814 from the line. George Washington also averages 43.3 rebounds a game, 13.3 assists and 7.8 steals a game. GW also forces 12.0 turnovers a game.
Meanwhile, Opponents average 65.0 points and 13.3 rebounds a game. Opponents also shoot .339 from the field, .252 from three and .780 from the line. Opponents also dish out 13.3 assists and grab 6.3 steals a game, while also forcing 13.5 turnovers a game.
Individually, Garrett Johnson leads GW with 17.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, while shooting .590 from the field, .500 from three and .923 from the line, while James Bishop, IV adds 17.0 points and 5.2 assists. Meanwhile, Maximus Edwards adds 14.8 points and is 12-of-22 from three, while also averaging 7.3 rebounds a contest.

Ohio enters the matchup with George Washington with a 2-1 record after coming off a 71-52 win over Detroit Mercy on Nov. 18.

AJ Brown is looking towards a breakout second season with the Bobcats.
Brown began that journey effortlessly on No. 8 against Troy, leading Ohio with 24 points, going 10-of-15 from the field and grabbing six rebounds in the 88-70 victory.
SOPHOMORE YEAR (ELMORE'S VERSION)
Sophomore guard
Elmore James is looking to make a name for himself this season.
That plan started out on the right track on Nov. 8 against Troy, with James scoring 20 points, going 7-of-13 from the field, grabbing six rebounds, snagging two steals and going perfect from the line in Ohio's 88-70 victory over Troy.
JAYLIN ON THE HUNT
Senior guard
Jaylin Hunter is looking to make the most out of his final season.
In the season opener, Hunter was effective with the ball, dishing out four assists and going a perfect 8-for-8 from the line.
He then had a 13-point performance at Cleveland State on Nov. 11.
Hunter recorded his 1,000th career point on Nov. 18 against Detroit Mercy.
Hunter also recorded his first career double double in the Detroit Mercy game with the help of a career-high 10 rebounds and 14 points.
CLAYTON TAKES THE NEXT STEP
Junior forward
AJ Clayton has moved back into his starting roll with ease.
He has recorded double figure scoring numbers in three-straight games to open the season.
On Nov. 18 against Detroit Mercy, Clayton led Ohio with 18 points, while also grabbing six rebounds and tying his career-high with four made threes.
CORNISH GETTING INTO THE GROOVE
Redshirt sophomore
Ike Cornish was started to gather momentum in his first season in the Green and White, getting more comfortable as the year continues.
On Nov. 18 against Detroit Mercy, Cornish had a career day, scoring 12 points, while going 4-of-9 from the field, grabbing four rebounds and dishing out two assists with one block in the win.
ESTIS MAKES HIS DEBUT
Redshirt freshman guard
Ben Estis made is debut on Nov. 18 against Detroit Mercy, scoring his first career point and grabbing his first career rebound.

Up next, the Bobcats will continue play at the 2023 Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship, when they take on either Middle Tennessee or UIC in the second game.
