BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Ohio track and field team wrapped up an intense weekend (Jan. 27-28) at the IU Relays inside the Gladstein Fieldhouse.
In the field events, junior Emily McKenzie (Dillsburg, Pa.) finished fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 11.16m. Meanwhile, junior Imani Brown (Crown Point, Ind.) took third in the high jump with a jump of 1.59m.
Fifth year Autumn Mohan (Chillicothe, Ohio) was just edged out of the top-8 with a season best throw of 13.19m in the shot put. Sophomore Millie Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) achieved a season best in the shot put as well with a throw of 12.44m. Mohan also found success in the weight throw, throwing a season best 15.26m.
Freshman Josie Knierim (McConnelsville, Ohio) placed fourth in the 60m dash after crossing the finish line in 7.73. Graduate student Larissa Manciaz (Eagle Lake, Texas) won her 400m heat with a time of 58.08, finishing seventh overall. Freshman Sophie Besett (Twinsburg, Ohio) took sixth in the 600m, clocking a 1:40.46.
Fifth year Madelyn Bartolone (Massillon, Ohio) finished second in the Friday session of the mile with a time of 4:59.61, while freshman Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) took sixth with a 5:11.79. On Saturday, fifth year Stephanie Pierce (Fairborn, Ohio) ran a 4:57.74 mile, placing ninth while Alyssa Christian (Newark, Ohio) notched a 5:05.44.
Five Bobcats recorded personal bests in a competitive 3000m run. Among them was freshman Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio), who led Ohio with a time of 9:49.12.
The 4x400m team of redshirt senior Taniah Stephens (Erie, Pa.), Brown, Knierim, and Manciaz closed out the weekend with a season best time of 3:55.74 for a fifth-place finish.
Up next, the Bobcats will travel to South Bend, Ind. to compete in the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Feb. 3-4.
