
Ohio Women's Golf Completes the Grandover Fall Classic in 9th Place

GREENSBORO, NC -- Ohio's women's golf team finished up their third and final round today (Sept. 27), at The Grandover Fall Classic placing 9th out of 12 teams. The golf tournament began on Monday morning (Sept. 26), consisting of three rounds and 54 holes over the course of two days. The Bobcats concluded the Grandover Fall Classic shooting a combined 948 (+84).
The Bobcats started today (Sept. 27) in 8th place with a team score of 630; 323 from round one and a 307 from round two. Their third and final round began at 8:30 am this morning and resulted in a score of 318 (+30). The Bobcat's had another great tournament against some challenging teams from across the nation; High Point, UNCG, Howard, Wofford, Longwood, Marshall, Towson, Radford, Queens University of Charlotte, Winthrop, and North Carolina Central.Â
Individually, Mariana Vega-Rivera led the Bobcat's finishing in 18th place tied with two others. Mariana shot a 233 (+17), with Avery Ovens following behind in 31st with a score of 238 (+22). Mackenzie McRee was placed 37th overall shooting a 240 (+24) and Thanya Arasu posted a score of 244 (+28) putting her in 48th overall. Sydney Longstreth finished out for the Bobcats in 56th place shooting a 249 (+33) after round 3.Â
Lastly, Alaina Nugent competed as an individual in the Grandover Fall Classic placing 61st overall with a final score of 253 (+37).Â
The first-place golfer for the 2022 Grandover Fall Classic in North Carolina was Sarah Kahn from High Point University. Kahn completed the classic with an impressive 222 (+6), which helped her team place first at the end of the three rounds. High Point University finished out the Classic with a final score of 918 (+54).

The Ohio women's golf team will head to Ypsilanti, Michigan in the beginning of October to compete in the Shirley Spork EMU Invitational.Â
