ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio field hockey team opens to 2022 season on Sunday, Aug. 28 against Cal. First touch is set for Noon ET at Pruitt Field.

Ali Johnstone returns for her fifth season
Ohio returns 11 from last season, including All-MAC forward senior
Katelyn Whittle (Glenwood, Md.). Whittle finished last season in goals with 10. Senior defender
Weslee Littlefield (Oakland, Maine), senior forward
Lucy Davis (Kettering, Ohio) and graduate student goalkeeper
Nele Graner (Bonn, Germany) also return for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats also welcome eight freshman to the roster in 2022.
The Bobcats are coming off a 7-12 2021 season, including a 4-3 mark on MAC play where the Bobcats reached the MAC Tournament as the fourth seed. The Bobcats placed nine on the NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction, 12 Academic-All MAC selections and four All-MAC honorees.
After the Bobcats open the season on Sunday, Ohio is back in Athens on Sunday, Sept. 4 against Davidson. First touch is set for Noon ET at Pruitt Field.
