ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio field hockey team has released its 2022 schedule, head coach
Ali Johnstone announced.
The Bobcats begin the season on Wednesday, Aug. 17 with an exhibition at Ohio State that is set to start at 3 p.m. in Columbus, Ohio. Ohio's final tune-up comes Sunday, Aug. 21 when they take on Kent State in Kent, Ohio at Noon ET.
Ohio opens the regular season on Sunday, Aug. 28 when the Bobcats host Cal at Noon at Pruitt Field.
Ohio hits the road Sept. 2 when they take on Central Michigan in a nonconference matchup in Ann Arbor, Mich. at 3 p.m., before returning to Athens on Sept. 4 to host Davidson at Noon.
The Bobcats are then on the road Sept. 11 at Towson and Sept. 16 at Miami, before hosting Queens College on Sept. 18 at Noon at Pruitt Field.
After two more road contests at Longwood (Sept. 23) and VCU (Sept. 25), the Bobcats head back to Athens for a two-game home stand when they host Kent State on Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. and Michigan State on Oct. 2 at Noon.
After a stop at Ball State on Oct. 7, Ohio is back in Athens for an extended period, starting on Oct. 9 when the Bobcats host Ohio State at 1 p.m. at Pruitt Field. On Oct. 14, Ohio welcomes Central Michigan at 2 p.m. and then closes out the home stand on Oct. 16 against St. Francis at Noon.
Ohio then headed to Bellarmine (Oct. 21) and Indiana (Oct. 23), before closing out the regular season on Oct. 28 against Appalachian State at 2 p.m. in Athens.
The 2022 Mid-American Conference Championships will take place Nov. 4-5 in Oxford, Ohio.
