OXFORD, Ohio—The Ohio baseball team (20-19, 12-12 MAC) dropped their final game against Miami (19-25, 14-17 MAC), 9-7.

Individually, redshirt freshman Nick Dolan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) went 3-for-5 with one double and two RBIs while junior Alex Finney (Oxford, Mich.) and redshirt senior Michael Richardson (Cambridge, Md.) both went 2-for-4. On the mound, senior Brenden Roder (Sioux City, Iowa), went six innings, striking out seven batters.

Senior Mason Minzey (Grand Blanc, Mich.) gave Ohio an early lead, driving in fifth year Colin Kasperbauer (Sioux City, Iowa) with a double in the top of the first. The next inning, graduate student Cael Baker (Gahanna, Ohio) extended the Bobcats' lead to 2-0 with an RBI double to right field.

The RedHawks struck in the bottom of the second inning, evening the score with a solo home run and an RBI double. Another Miami homer in the third left Ohio trailing, 3-2. Miami continued to build on their lead in the fifth, scoring off a groundout and a double.

Fifth year Isaiah Peterson (Lincoln, Neb.) cut into the RedHawks' lead in the seventh with a home run to left field, but Miami tacked on four runs in the bottom of the inning, putting the score at 9-3.

Finney took advantage of a wild pitch in the eighth, scoring the Bobcats' fourth run. Dolan followed with an RBI-single, driving in Richardson and Baker to put the score at 9-6. Peterson wrapped up the scoring in the ninth with a single and Ohio fell, 9-7.

UP NEXT
The Bobcats return to action on Friday, May 6 at Bob Wren Stadium for the first of four games against Akron.
