ATHENS, Ohio -- It's officially basketball season and Miami week! Plus Senior Night for Ohio Volleyball! Check out everything that is coming up in Ohio Athletics in this week's Paw Prints. 

FOOTBALL
Nov. 8  / at Miami / Yager Stadium / Oxford, Ohio / 7:30 p.m. / ESPN2  / Watch / Live Stats / Audio 

 The Ohio football team (6-3, 4-1 MAC) travels to Oxford, Ohio on Tuesday, Nov. 8 when they take on rival Miami (4-5, 2-3 MAC). Kickoff for the Battle of the Bricks is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at Yager Stadium. The game can be seen on ESPN2; Jay Alter and Tom Luginbill are on the call with Coley Harvey on the sideline.

The Bobcats' matchup can also be heard on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield. Russ Eisenstein returns for his 15th season as the "Voice of the Bobcats" and will be joined by Ohio alum Rob Cornelius, who has been a part of the broadcasts for two decades.

The Ohio men's basketball team opens the 2022-23 season this week, starting on Monday, Nov. 7 when Ohio heads to Nashville, Tenn. to take on Belmont. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET inside the Curb Event Center. Ohio is back in action on Saturday, Nov. 12 when the Bobcats open the home part of their schedule against Cleveland State. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. inside the Convocation Center. 

The Bobcats are coming off a 25-10 season and a 14-6 mark in conference play. Ohio advanced to the MAC Semifinals and then advanced into the second round of the 2022 CBI in Daytona Beach, Fla. Ohio defeated Capital, 79-62, in an exhibition matchup on Nov. 3. 
 
The Bobcats return six from last season's roster including graduate student forward Dwight Wilson III (Tallahassee, Fla.) who is back after missing last season with a knee injury. Seniors Miles Brown (Rochester, N.Y.) and Ben Roderick (Powell, Ohio) and sophomores AJ Clayton (Roseville, Ohio), IJ Ezuma (Raleigh, N.C.) and Olumide Adelodun (Calgary, Canada) also return for the Green and White. 
 
Ohio welcomes nine newcomers to the roster that includes transfers Jaylin Hunter (Manchester, Conn.), Gabe Wiznitzer (Walhalla, S.C.) and DeVon Baker (Dayton, Ohio). Ohio also adds freshmen AJ Brown (Orlando, Fla.), Ajay Sheldon (Dublin, Ohio), Elmore James (Cleveland, Ohio), Aidan Hadaway (Lafayette, Ga.), Ben Estis (Southlake, Texas) and Quinn Corna (Columbus, Ohio).

The Ohio women's basketball team begins the 2022-23 season on Monday, Nov. 7 when they host LIU in Athens. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside the Convocation Center. Ohio then hits the road to Farmville, Va. to take on Longwood on Thursday, Nov. 10. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside Willett Hall. 

With the beginning of the 2022-23 season, Ohio has added four new players to the roster; two of them being freshman, Jaya McClure and Cassidy Lafler. Whereas, Kailah Johnson and Aja Austin are transfer students. Those returning for the Ohio Bobcats are Yaya FelderMadi MaceElla PopeCaitlyn KrollPeyton GuiceKate DennisKendall HaleJasmine Hale, and Alexandra Antonova.

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

After an historic second-place finish for the women's cross country team at this year's MAC Championships, both men's and women's squads are back in action for the 2022 Great Lakes Regional. This year's even takes place in Terre Haute, Ind. and is hosted by Indiana State. The women's 6K is set to begin at 10 a.m. at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, with the men's 10k to follow at 11 a.m.

The Ohio volleyball team begins the home stretch of the 2022 regular season, beginning with two games of inside the Convo this weekend. Ohio plays host to MAC-leading Ball State (23-2, 12-2 MAC) on Friday, Nov. 11 with first serve set for 7 p.m. inside the Convo. Ohio wraps up its weekend on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 5:30 p.m. with the same Cardinal squad inside the Convocation Center. 

Saturday will serve as Senior Night for the 2022 senior class. 

WRESTLING
Nov. 12  / at Mountaineer Invitational / Varsity Gym / Boone, N.C. / All Day

The Ohio wrestling squad continues the start of its season this Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Mountaineer Invitational. The all-day event is hosted by App State and will take place in Varsity Gym in Boone, N.C. 

The Bobcats opened their 2022-23 season at the Michigan State Open on Nov. 5. The Bobcats dominated the freshman/sophomore division, with 11 Bobcats finishing in the top six of their weight class. The day was highlighted by first place finishes from freshman Derek Raike (Point Pleasant, W. Va.) at 149 pounds and redshirt freshman Peyton Kellar (Cutler, Ohio) at 157 pounds.
