COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio swimming and diving team returned to action Thursday for the 2022 Ohio State Fall Invitational inside McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. After day one, Ohio sits in eighth place with 170 points.
The three-day event plays host to Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Lindenwood, Yale, Navy. Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, UCLA, Pitt, Miami and Kenyon.
The Bobcats opened Thursday night with the 200-yard free relay, the Ohio 'A' team of senior
McKenzie Grau (Mason, Ohio), junior
Caroline Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa.), senior
Emma Fortman (Madeira, Ohio) and junior
Meg Voigt (Bryan, Ohio) placed 14
th overall with a time of 1:35.47.
In the 200-yard IM finals, junior
Ami Hornyak (Debrecen, Hungary) placed eighth overall with a time of 1:59.59, while junior
Gabrielle Brust (Granville, Ohio) finished 27
th overall, touching in with a time of 2:02.21.
In the 50 free finals, Dunigan returned to action, placing 35
th with a time of 23.22.
In the final event of the first night of competition, the Ohio 'A' team of freshman
Allison Schrank (Blaine, Minn.), Hornyak, Brust and Dunigan placed 16
th in the 400-yard medley relay, finishing in 3:40.88.
Earlier in the day, the Ohio divers competed in the 3-meter prelims, with senior
Sienna Breton (Cheshire, Conn.) finishing 16
th with a score of 259.80, while senior
Halli Siwik (Fishers, Ind.) finished 28
th with a score of 214.05.
Ohio is back in action for day two of the OSU Fall Invite on Friday. The preliminary events will take place at 9 a.m., with the finals scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
