Bowling Green, Ohio – The Ohio soccer team (6-5-2) traveled to Bowling Green this Sunday (Oct.13), falling to the Falcons (5-4-3), on the road at Cochrane Stadium.
Bowling Green opened the scoring in the first half with 2 early goals against Bobcats. The Bobcats tried to battle back with shots from Aubrey Rea, Carsyn Prigge, Abby Townsend, and Shae Robertson. Although the Bobcat's had 5 shots on goal, the Falcons took a 3-0 lead at half.
The Bobcats came out stronger in the second half with more opportunities offensively, firing 7 shots to pressure the Falcons goalkeeper, Lili Berg to make 5 saves. However, it was Bowling Green who struck again in the second half with 1 final goal in the 71st minute of play.
Overall the Bobcats finished out the game with 11 shots total; Aubrey Rea and Carsyn Prigge led Ohio with 3 shots apiece.
In goal, Sam Wexell started for the Bobcats playing the first 45 minutes and Celeste Sloma finished out the last 45 minutes making 3 saves to minimize total goals allowed.
Overall, Ohio was out-shot by Bowling Green 12-11 but had the advantage in corner kicks, taking four compared to the two from Bowling Green. The Bobcats had great opportunities throughout the 90 minutes yet were unable to capitalize, falling 4-0 on the road.
