CHARLOTTE -- The Ohio Women's Basketball wrapped up the 2020-21 season after falling to Massachusetts, 95-71, on Monday afternoon at the Bojangles Coliseum in the Women's National Invitational Tournament consolation final.
The Bobcats were led by senior guard Cece Hooks (Dayton Ohio) after she posted 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting. Hooks picked up three fouls early and was forced to play just 19 minutes.
Redshirt junior Erica Johnson (Mansfield, Ohio) added 17 points and was 6-of-17 from the field, all from behind the three-point line. Johnson added five rebounds and four assists.
Redshirt junior guard Caitlyn Kroll (Bridgeport, Ohio) added 11 points and two assists. Redshirt freshman guard Madi Mace (Parkersburg, W.Va.) had a career-high 13 rebounds and added three points.
Ohio was 27-of-61 (44.3 percent) from the field and 11-of-31 (35.5 percent) from the three-point line, while UMass was 36-of-73 (49.3 percent) and 9-of-28 (32.1 percent) from behind-the-arc.
Ohio had seven steals and forced nine turnovers, while OU turned the ball over 18 times. Hooks had thee swipes to lead the game.
