ATHENS, Ohio -- Senior point guard Cece Hooks (Dayton, Ohio) has been named the MAC Player of the Week for her play during the week of Dec. 20, the conference announced today. It's the first time this season that Hooks has earned this recognition, and the 13th time overall in her career.

Hooks continued her streak of scoring 20+ points in each of the Bobcats' two games last week, logging 25 and 20 points respectively in Ohio's 2 wins at the FIU Holiday Hoops Showdown. With those performances, the senior finished non-conference play having scored 20 or more points in 8 of Ohio's 9 contests. In the Bobcats' victory over UMass Lowell, Hooks logged a season-high with her 25 points, a performance that included 11 made field goals. Those 11 made field goals moved Hooks into first place all-time in Ohio basketball history for career made field goals. Hooks then again led the team in scoring with 20 points in Ohio's defeat of Binghamton the following day, recording a near double-double with nine rebounds as well.
