ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio men's basketball (2-0) returns to action this Monday, Nov. 15 when they take on its second-straight Horizon League opponent when Robert Morris (0-2) come to Athens. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside the Convocation Center. Monday's game can be seen on ESPN3 where Marty Bannister and Jacki Windon will have the call.
The Bobcats' matchup can also be heard on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield. Russ Eisenstein returns for his 14th season as the "Voice of the Bobcats" and will be joined by Ohio alum Rob Cornelius, who has been a part of the broadcasts for two decades. WXTQ (Power 105) in Athens returns as the 11-station network's flagship.

The Ohio men's basketball team (2-0) returned to action Saturday night, defeating Cleveland State (0-2), 67-56 inside the Wolsteine Center. The Bobcats were led by sophomore guard Mark Sears, who finished with 15 points.
Sears (Muscle Shoals, Ala) finished with 15 points, going 5-of-11 from the field, 4-for-4 from the line, while dishing out four assists. Junior guard Miles Brown (Rochester, N.Y.) finished with 10 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Redshirt senior forward Ben Vander Plas (Ripon, Wis.) finished with nine points – all threes- and a team-high nine rebounds. Redshirt fifth year forward Jason Carter (Johnstown, Ohio) and senior guard Tommy Schmock (Cleveland, Ohio) both led the Bobcats with five assists. Meanwhile, sophomore forward Sam Towns (Columbus, Ohio) finished with five points, six rebounds and three assists.
Overall, Ohio shot 38.1 percent from the field, hit 12 threes, and went 7-of-10 from the line. Meanwhile, Cleveland State shot 38.2 percent from the field, 21.1 percent from three and 52.6 percent from the line. Ohio outrebounded the Vikings, 42-35. Meanwhile, Ohio dished out 22 assists on 24 shots made and forced 20 CSU turnovers.
MILES STEPPING UP
Junior guard Miles Brown is stepping up in his new starting role.
In two-straight starts, Brown is averaging 10.0 points and is shooting .462 from the field, .400 from three and has hit all four free throws that he's attempted.
A GREAT START FOR SEARS
In his new starting point guard role, Mark Sears as excelled over the first week of the season.
Sears s averaging 21.0 points a game, while shooting .682 from the field, .833 from three and .875 from the line.
Along with his 27-point performance against Belmont, Sears lead Ohio with 15 points against Cleveland State on Nov. 13.

Sears went 10-of-11 from the field, 4-of-4 from three, while also grabbing six rebounds and dishing out for assists in 3 minutes on the floor.
IT'S LIKE HE NEVER LEFT
In his first game back in Athens, Jason Carter was back to his old self.
Carter registered his first double double of the season, scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the victory over Belmont.
Carter went 8-of-18 from the field, 4-of-8 from three and registered two steals.
After two games, Carter is averaging 14 points and 7.5 rebounds a game.

BVP STILL STEADY
Ben Vander Plas picked up right where he left on in 2021-22 on Nov. 9.
The forward scored 19 points and grabbed six boards in Ohio's win against Belmont. He also tied a career-high, dishing out seven assists.
TOWNS OFF THE BENCH
Sophomore forward Sam Towns made a mark on Nov. 13 at Cleveland State.
Off the bench, Towns scored five points, hit a three, while also grabbed a career-high six rebounds and dished out five assists.

On Nov. 13 at Cleveland State, the Bobcats shared the ball. Ohio dished out 22 assists on 24 made baskets in Ohio's 67-56 victory.
WHAT AN OPENER IN THE CONVO
On Nov. 9 against Belmont in the season opener, Ohio was sensational, taking down the Bruins, 9--82 inside the Convo.
Ohio was led offensively by sophomore guard Mark Sears (Muscle Shoals, Ala.), who finished with 27 points on 10 for 11 shooting, with six rebounds and four assists.
The Bobcats finished out the remainder of the game out-scoring the Bruins 32-22 while shooting 51 percent from the field and 41 percent from three.
Ohio had three other players alongside Sears finish with double-digit points. Jason Carter contributed 20, Ben Vander Plas had 19, and Miles Brown scored 10. Carter led the rebounding effort with 10, while Vander Plas dished out seven assists.
