Ohio Track & Field Heads Back to Huntington for Marshall Invitational

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio track & field team is headed back to Huntington, W. Va., for the third and final time during the 2019-20 indoor season as the Bobcats are set to compete in the Marshall Invitational this weekend (Feb. 7-8) at the Jeff Small Track at the Chris Cline Athletics Complex.
The weekend of competition opens Friday (Feb. 7) with field events getting underway at 5:30 p.m. ET and track events starting at 7 p.m. ET. On Saturday (Feb. 8), field events begin at 10 a.m. ET while track events open at noon ET.
The Bobcats have also competed in the Marshall Opener on Dec. 6 and the Marshall Women's Classic on Jan. 11 in Huntington.
Along with host Marshall, Ohio will be competing against student-athletes from Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Morehead State, Murray State and Western Kentucky.
Last Saturday (Feb. 1), the Bobcats saw three student-athletes tally top-two finishes in their respective events at the Liberty Flames Invite at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg, Va. Sophomore Madelyn Bartolone (Massillon, Ohio) won the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:01.81. Senior Ashleigh Kitrell (Oakland, Neb.) finished second in the 400-meter dash in 57.12. Junior Abby Moore (Rootstown, Ohio) turned in a second-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 19.01 meters, the best mark of her collegiate career. She also took seventh in the shot put with a throw of 13.50 meters.
Next weekend (Feb. 14-15), the Bobcats will head to northeast Ohio for the Kent State Qualifier in Kent, Ohio.
