ATHENS, Ohio â€" The Ohio Women’s Cross Country team picks up a second place finish out of nine teams and 93 runners at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invite 6K in Blacksburg, Va. on Friday (Sept. 16). The Bobcats scored a total of 69 points behind host, Virginia Tech.
Sophomore, Alyssa Atkinson (Granville, Ohio), led the Bobcats and completed the race in a time of 21:36.3 to secure third place.
Emily Deering (Geneva, Ohio) was next to cross at 20th with a time of 22:42.30 just before Madison Sury (Waterford, Ohio), 22nd at 22:46.5; Abby Miller (Mansfield, Ohio), 23rd at 22:47.3; and Emily Cass (The Plains, Ohio), 31st at 23:09.1.
The Bobcats plan to head to Cedarville, Ohio Friday, Sept. 30 to race at the All-Ohio Championships starting at 2:45 p.m.
