QUOTABLE
Third-year head coach Deane Webb on the loss
"I think they were mentally stronger than we were, and we made a lot of poor decision defensively. I think we had too many balls that fell that were what I would consider routine defensive plays on our side, and we didn't make those plays when we needed to. I think Marshall worked really hard. They deserved to win tonight. I thought they had great work ethic on their side and a lot of good defense on their side as well. It was a tough one; a tough loss. We had our opportunities. I just think as the match went on, we were weaker mentally than we should have been."
Senior outside hitter/libero Mallory Salis on the loss
"I think it's definitely a learning experience. We're a DI collegiate-level program. That's something we have to expect, especially with a team that's very similar to us, potential-wise. They put their heart into it, and we didn't. They were the agressive team, and we were the passive one. I think when you're the passive team that's where the errors come out."
