• The two squads combined to leave nine runners on base through the first five innings to play with no runs to show for either side.
• Miami broke the deadlock with three runs in the top of the sixth inning. Redshirt sophomore first baseman Ross Haffey coaxed a leadoff walk, and Russo followed with a single through the left side. A sacrifice bunt by Sedio moved both into scoring position. Harris drew a walk to load the bases for the RedHawks. Hall served up a sacrifice fly to left to allow Haffey to tag up and score the contest's first run from third. A single to center by Senger scored Russo and extended Miami's advantage to two runs. The RedHawks made it 3-0 when Harris scored on an Ohio fielding error that allowed Romano to reach safely.
• Ohio broke through with a run in the bottom of the seventh when senior center fielder Manny De Jesus (Caguas, Puerto Rico) drew a two-out walk, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single through the right side by Black to make it a two-run game.
• The RedHawks got the run back in the ensuing frame. Sedio sent a leadoff double down the right field line and scored one out later on an RBI ground out to short by Hall.
• Miami's lead swelled to 10-1 in the ninth. Sada drew a one-out walk, stole second and scored one out later on a base hit to center by Haffey. After Russo earned a free pass, Seido doubled home Haffey. Russo then scored from third on a wild pitch. A single through the left side by Harris drove in Seido. Hall then doubled to left center, and both he and Harris scored on a double to left center by Senger to make it a six-run frame for the RedHawks.
• Ohio tallied one last run in the home half of the ninth as freshman pinch hitter Devon Garcia (Bowling Green, Ohio) reached on a hit by pitch to lead things off, advanced to third on a base hit back to the mound by De Jesus and scored on a wild pitch with junior pinch hitter Connor Callery (Covington, Ky.) at the plate.

UP NEXT
Due to rain in the forecast on both Friday night and Saturday, Ohio and Miami will now close the 2016 regular season by playing a Friday (May 20) doubleheader beginning at 10 a.m. ET at Bob Wren Stadium. Admission will be free.

The Bobcats will now honor their 2016 senior class of Adryan, De Jesus, Miller, right-handed pitcher Eddie Fitzpatrick (North Attleboro, Mass.), catcher Cody Gaertner (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and right-handed pitcher Connor Sitz (Westerville, Ohio) with a ceremony between games of the twin bill.

Ohio's starting pitchers for the doubleheader have yet to be determined. Miami will start freshman right-hander Cole Gnetz in game one. Gnetz has struck out a team-high 58 batters this season. The RedHawks will send freshman southpaw Zach Spears to the hill for game two. He's thrown a team-high 61.0 innings this year.

'Voice of the Bobcats' Russ Eisenstein will have the call of the doubleheader on WOUB-AM 1340 and OhioBobcats.com.
