ATHENS, Ohio â€" The Ohio softball team (25-18) dropped both games of a doubleheader to Ohio State (27-11-1) on Tuesday (April 19) evening at the Ohio Softball Field. In the first game, the Bobcats dropped the pitcher’s duel by the final of 1-0. Ohio would fall, 10-4 in game two to the Buckeyes.
“We need to do a better job with runners in scoring position,†head coach Jodi Hermanek said. “That’s a stat that I told them that we need to get better at. That’s pretty much it. We’re getting runners on. We had opportunities in the first game for sure. We just need to do a better job. I don’t want us to press, but I need us to do better with runners in scoring position. I thought we had some good shots today. I thought they made some good outs in the field. But, the ball needs to have some eyes and we’ll be better. “
