• With the RedHawks switching back to a zone, the Bobcats looked to hammer them down low as Campbell, Laster and Setty each found their way to the rim as Ohio extended its lead to 51-31 with 14:23 left in regulation.
• Miami did not go away quietly, though, going on a 23-3 run over the ensuing five-plus minutes to cut the Ohio lead to 54-49 with 8:02 to go as Wade drained a pair of threes and Harouna hit two of three at the charity stripe after being fouled on a three-point attempt and then sank a trey a minute later to make it a five-point game.
• Dartis drilled a big left-wing three to put the Bobcats up 57-49 with 6:48 left in the game.
• A layup by Campbell and another Dartis bomb -- this time from the right wing -- pushed the Bobcats' lead back to double digits at 11 at 62-51 with 4:56 remaining.
• The Bobcats took care of business at the charity stripe, particularly down the final stretch to seal the victory. QUOTABLE

Second-year head coach Saul Phillips on the peformance by redshirt sophomore guard Jaaron Simmons
"He had a look in his eye. My dad even pointed it out. He had a look in his eye yesterday and today. The kid is a winner. He comes from a championship program and here you have some bait hanging out there in front of him. He's a kid that the bigger the situation the more he'll rise to it. If you were taking bets that he will lead this team to an NCAA Tournament at some point or not, I wouldn't bet against it."

Phillips on the game plan against Miami
"In a game that Miami was facing some major constraints, it shrunk the game down. It was a lower possession game. In the first half we scored 41 points on 28 possessions which is a really high number, and it felt like we weren't doing anything. It's hard to cause separation when a team goes that deep in the shot clock, and it's exactly what they needed to do, and I figured they would do it."

UP NEXT

The Falcons have dropped seven in a row -- including an 88-74 setback to Buffalo on Saturday in Amherst, N.Y. Ohio fell to Bowling Green, 91-75, in Athens on Jan. 12, 2016, in the first meeting of the season between the two squads.
