Short Story: The No. 3-seeded Ohio volleyball team (16-14) saw its 2016 season come to an end with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-19) loss at the hands of No. 2-seeded Northern Illinois (24-5) in the 2016 Mid-American Conference Championship Semifinals on Saturday (Nov. 19) at Victor E. Court in DeKalb, Ill.
THE BASICS
⢠The Huskies hit .297 (37 kills-10 errors-91 total attacks) while limiting the Bobcats to a .092 (36 kills-26 errors-109 total attacks).
⢠Redshirt junior middle blocker Ali Lake (Liberty Township, Ohio) led Ohio with 12 kills. She hit .348 (12 kills-four errors-23 total attacks). Lake also added an assist and three digs.
⢠Senior outside hitter/libero Mallory Salis (Oak Lawn, Ill.) tallied 10 kills, two assisted blocks and six digs for the Bobcats.
⢠Junior outside hitter Jaime Kosiorek (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) logged 10 kills, a solo block and seven digs for Ohio.
⢠Sophomore setter/outside hitter Stephanie Olman (Maumee, Ohio) dished out a match-high 27 assists for the Bobcats. She also had an assisted block and two digs.
⢠Sophomore libero Erica Walker (Wheaton, Ill.) led Ohio with 11 digs.
⢠Senior outside hitter Mary Grace Kelly led Northern Illinois with 11 kills. She also posted three assisted blocks and five digs.
⢠Sophomore middle blocker Meg Wolowicz recorded a match-high seven assisted blocks and also chipped in four kills for the Huskies.
⢠Redshirt senior middle blocker Lauren Zielinski contributed seven kills and five assisted blocks for Northern Illinois. She also had an assist and a dig.
⢠Junior setter Chandler Kinley distributed a team-high 20 assists for the Huskies. She also had five digs.
⢠Freshman setter Samantha Boever totaled 13 assists and a dig for Northern Illinois.
⢠Junior defensive specialist/libero Anna Brereton led Northern Illinois with 12 digs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
⢠Senior co-captains Salis and libero Brooke Coleman (Plano, Texas) helped lead the Bobcats to 91 wins, two MAC regular season championships, two MAC tournament titles and two NCAA Championship appearances in the last four years.

Ohio ends its 2016 season with 16 wins. Northern Illinois will face No. 1-seeded Miami (24-5) on Sunday (Nov. 20) at 6 p.m. ET in the 2016 MAC title match.
