DADE CITY, Fla. - - The Ohio men’s golf team fell to Mid-American Conference rival Miami, 5-1, in its first match of the 2015 Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play before rain could suspend the second round on the Lake Jovita Golf Course on Monday (Feb. 9).
Freshman Brady Bohl (Dublin, Ohio) was the only Bobcat to earn a victory over the Redhawks defeating Greg Conrad 1 up.
Sophomore Peyton White (Huntersville, N.C.) was defeated by Miami freshman Patrick Flavin, 2 up.
Freshman Grant Engel (Pittsburgh, Pa.) fell to senior Scott Cahill, 2&1.
Junior Brad Burgess (St. Catharines, Ontario) faced a defeated to junior Jack Sparling, 5&4.
Sophomore Ty Herriott (Brandywine, Md.) took a 2&1 defeat to Miami’s senior Luke Shaugnessy.
Senior Andrew Mlynarski (St. Michaels, Md.) suffered a 3&2 loss to senior Brantley Kushner.
The second and final round will be played tomorrow morning. Ohio will take on Dayton tomorrow at 8:30a.m.
