DADE CITY, Fla. â€" The Ohio men’s golf team finished final round play at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play on Tuesday (Feb. 10) and earned a fifth place finish.
The Bobcats garnered a win over Dayton, 5-1, in the second and final round of match play Tuesday after suffering a loss to Mid-American Conference rival Miami, 5-1, in the first round play.
Sophomore Peyton White (Huntersville, N.C.) defeated Dayton’s senior George Rhode, 5&4.
Junior Brad Burgess (St. Catherines, Ontario) earned a 1 up win over Junior Thomas Goss.
Sophomore Ty Herriott (Brandywine, Md.) garnered a 1 up win over freshman Flyer, P.J. Malik.
Senior Andrew Mlynarski (St. Michaels, Md.) topped freshman Erron Vandermore, 3&1.
Freshman Brady Bohl (Dublin, Ohio) had a 5&4 defeat over senior Craig Purpus.
Freshman Grant Engel (Pittsburgh, Pa.) suffered Ohio’s only loss to Dayton’s sophomore Nick Paxson, 4&3.
Next, Ohio will head south again to Hilton Head, S.C. for the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate on Feb. 23 and 24.
