WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Ohio men's golf team completed 18 holes of golf against elite competition at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate on Sunday and the Bobcats sit in 13th place after posting a team score of 298 (+18) after the first day of competition.
Radford and Loyola University - Maryland sit tied for first place after the first day, posting a team score of 283 (+3)
Junior Michael Engelman (Grand Blanc, Mich.) currently leads the pack for the Bobcats, shooting a 72 (+2) during the first 18 holes, which is tied for 25th.
Freshman Grant Engel (Pittsburgh, Pa) is tied for 50th, posting a first round score of 74 (+4) and sophomore Peyton White (Huntersville, N.C.) posted an opening round score of 75 (+5), which leaves him tied for 67th after day one.
Senior Thomas Leech (Pittsburgh, Pa) closed out the first round on Sunday tied 9th place, posting an opening round score of 77 (+7) and senior Andrew Mlynarski ended day one with a score of 81 (+11).
The second round of competition at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate will begin Monday morning at 7:45 a.m.
