Junior Lauren McKinzie (Medina, Ohio) provided the No. 5-seeded Bobcats with their lone victory over the No. 5-seeded Huskies, defeating junior Peyton Gunnison, 2 & 1.
Senior Julie Lechner fell to junior Samantha Coyne, 3 & 1.
Freshman Lily Pendy (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) was defeated by sophomore Sydney Brickey, 1 Up.
Sophomore Hailey Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich.) took a 5 & 3 defeat to junior Connie Ellett.
Junior Angela Codian (Massillon, Ohio) suffered a 1 Up setback to sophomore Lena Gautier.
In individual play, sophomore Jessica McRae (Medina, Ohio) lost to senior Taylor Ellett, 5 & 3.
The second and third rounds will both be played on Tuesday (Feb. 10), with each round consisting of just nine holes. Ohio will take on No. 7-seeded IPFW in the second round.
