ESTERO, Fla. -- The Ohio men's golf team sits in a tie for seventh place with a 615 (+39) after two rounds of the Homewood/Hilton Garden Airport & FCGU Classic at Old Corkscrew Golf Club.
The Green & White shot 311 (+23) and 304 (+16) on Monday (Oct. 26) to head into third-round action on Tuesday (Oct. 27) tied with Eastern Kentucky.
No. 22-ranked Florida currently leads the field as the only team under par at -10 with a total team score of 566 after rounds of 286 (-2) and 280 (-8). Junior Ryan Orr and freshman Sam Horsfield of Florida are tied with Central Florida sophomore Manuel Elvira for the individual lead at -4 (140).
Junior Peyton White (Huntersville, N.C) led the Bobcats with rounds of 73 (+1) and 69 (-3) to finish in fifth place with a 36-hole score of 142 (-2). White spread out seven birdies over the opening two rounds and played the par 5s at two-under.
Freshman Ben Sattler (Liberty Township, Ohio) rebounded from an 82 (+10) in round one to score a 76 (+4) in the second round to finish at 158 (+14). Sattler, who sits in a tie for 42nd place heading into the final round, played the back nine at even par in round two.
Junior Ty Herriott (Brandywine, Md.) is tied for 48th place at 159 (+15) after rounds of 76 (+4) and 83 (+11). Herriot started out strong by paring his first eight holes of the day. He plated the 3,442-yard back nine at just +1 (37) in round one.
Sophomore Grant Engel (Pittsburgh, Pa.) is tied for 55th at 162 (+18) after carding rounds of 85 (+13) and 77 (+5). Engel's hottest stretch came in round one where he birdied holes nine, eleven and twelve.
Senior Michael Engelman (Grand Blanc, Mich.) finished the day tied for 66th at 166 (+22) after firing rounds of 79 (+7) and 87 (+15).
The third and final round of the Homewood/Hilton Garden Airport & FCGU Classic will begin at 8:45 a.m. ET on Tuesday.
