HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first set saw Ohio and Toledo trade points up until the 19-all mark. The Bobcats pulled away in the end though, closing the opening set victory out on a 6-2 run that was highlighted by Lake, Salis, Kosiorek and Bull. Ohio took advantage of four kills by Lake and three apiece from Bull, Kosiorek and Salis to take the 1-0 lead.
• The Bobcats picked up where they left off at the start of the second set, jumping out to a 12-8 lead thanks to kills by Walker, Kosiorek, Lake, Salis and Gilleland. The Rockets quickly flipped the script, though, using a 12-8 run of their own to snatch a 20-16 advantage. Back-to-back kills by Kosiorek, a double block by Bull and Lake and a Toledo attack error allowed Ohio to even the set score at 20-all. Two straight Bobcat attack errors gave the Rockets a 22-20 lead, but the Bobcats cut it back down to one courtesy of a kill by Lake. Unfortunately for Ohio, Toledo evened the match by closing out the second set with a 3-2 run.
• Ohio halted Toledo's momentum in the third set by racing out to a 17-7 lead thanks to five kills by Salis, kills by Kosiorek, Lake and redshirt freshman middle blocker Katie Nelson (Regina, Saskatchewan), a solo block by Bull and a double block by Gilleland and Bull. The Rockets refused to go quietly, though, putting together a 12-5 run to cut Ohio's lead down to three at 22-19. The Bobcats allowed Toledo to get no closer, though, closing out the third set with two kills by Bull to take a 2-1 match lead.
• The fourth set was all Bobcats, as Ohio hit an impressive .652 with 15 kills and no attack errors in 23 total attacks en route to a decisive 15-point set win. Salis racked up four more kills and Gilleland, Bull, Walker, Kosiorek and Lake all chipped in two to help the Bobcats wrap up a four-set victory.

QUOTABLE
"I think, we, as an attacking team, we just got better as the match went on. Early on, our vision wasn't particularly good. Hit into some single blocks that we shouldn't have. As the match went on, our attack vision got better, and, as that happened, of course, hitting percentage went up, particularly at the end. The last set, we had 15 kills, 23 attempts, no errors. That's a great set. You're not going to have very many of those, but it's nice when it happens. The serving was obviously much better tonight, particularly toward the end. The beginning, we were doing what teams do after bad serving nights. We were getting the ball in play very, very safely. As the match went on, we kept the ball in play, but we served more aggressively, which is what we want. We want to be aggressive but consistent at the same time. By the end, we were doing that. Particularly, I was impressed with Jaime's serving tonight. She was serving a very good ball while serving accurately, and that's not always easy to do, but she found a way to get it done." - Second-year head coach Deane Webb on the win
