ATHENS, Ohio - Sophomore Savannah Jo Dorsey (Grove City, Ohio) tallied seven strikeouts over seven innings of work, but the Ohio University softball team (18-15, 3-2 MAC) fell to Buffalo (16-14, 1-0 MAC), 4-0, on Saturday (April 5) at the Ohio Softball Field.
Dorsey did not surrender an earned run while going the distance for the 12th time in 2014.
Buffalo senior starting pitcher Tori Speckman threw a no-hitter, totaling 10 strikeouts while walking three over seven frames.
The Bulls plated two runs in the top of the second and added two more insurance scores in the sixth.
Sophomore Amanda Dalton (Salem, Va.), sophomore Alexia Cortez (Beaufort, S.C.) and junior Adrienne Gebele (Annapolis, Md.) each drew walks for Ohio.
The Bobcats look to rebound and finish the weekend with a series split against Buffalo on Sunday (April 6). First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. The weekend finale is highlighted by a pregame Rufus Kids Club Party and will also serve as 'Camper Reunion Day,' with free admission for all campers.
