ATHENS, Ohio - Sophomore John Adryan (Delran, N.J.) collected two hits and drove in a run, but the Ohio University baseball team (4-15, 0-2 MAC) suffered a 10-2 loss to Central Michigan (12-10, 2-0 MAC) in a Mid-American Conference cross-division contest on Saturday (March 22) at Bob Wren Stadium.

Freshman right-handed starting pitcher Jake Rudnicki (Toledo, Ohio) gave the Bobcats six solid innings, fanning two while limiting the Chippewas to just two runs on six hits and four walks.

Ohio rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game up. Junior Tyler Wells (Lexington, Ky.) got things rolling with a base hit through the left side. Adryan followed by stroking an RBI double to deep center field, cutting the Bobcats' deficit to one run. After advancing to third on a sacrifice bunt by senior Scott White (Jacksonville, Fla.), Adryan scored the tying run by way of an RBI groundout by freshman Connor Callery (Covington, Ky.).

Central Michigan answered in the ensuing frames, though, plating six runs in the eighth and two more in the ninth to seal the weekend series victory.

Ohio looks to bounce back on Sunday (March 23) in the series finale. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
