MORGANTOWN, W. Va.-The West Virginia wrestling team got six victories, including one pin and two major decisions, to knock off visiting Ohio 23-14 Saturday evening in Morgantown.
West Virginia improved to 8-5 overall, while Ohio dropped to 9-6.
Ohio got victories by decision from Germane Lindsey at 141 (3-2) and Jeremy Johnson at heavyweight (4-0). The Bobcats also picked up major decision wins by Nick Purdue at 174 (11-0) and Erik Schuth at 197 (11-3).
The Bobcats will be back in action Sunday at the Convo when they take on Eastern Michigan at 2 p.m. ET. Ohio, which can clinch at least a share of the MAC regular season title with a victory, will recognize its seniors as part of the Senior Day ceremony.
