Ohio, Temple Ready for Big Showdown on ESPN2 Tuesday

ATHENS, Ohio-Ohio Football heads to Philadelphia Tuesday evening for a crucial MAC East showdown with Temple at 8 p.m. ET in a game that will be nationally-televised on ESPN2.

                                                               

The Bobcats (7-3 overall, 5-1 MAC) are coming off a 34-17 win over Buffalo last Saturday, a victory that gave the program its sixth-straight win on the season. Quarterback Boo Jackson scored three types of touchdowns during the game, as he caught one, threw two and ran one into the end zone. Ohio's defense had a great day, combining for four sacks and three forced turnovers. Terrence McCrae had a big game as well, catching four passes for 48 yards and two touchdowns. Defensive back Shannon Ballard had eight tackles and two pass breakups, while defensive lineman Stafford Gatling had six tackles, including two tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

 

Redshirt sophomore QB Mike Gerardi passed for 368 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score in leading Temple (8-2 overall, 5-1 MAC) to a 28-10 win over host Kent State in a key Mid-American Conference battle at Dix Stadium last Saturday afternoon. Senior WR Michael Campbell, who caught a 63-yard reception to the one yard-line to set up the Owls' third score, had a career-high 137 yards on five receptions. He also eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for his career and now ranks 16th in receiving yardage with 1,074 yards. Junior DT Muhammad Wilkerson led the Owl defense with six tackles, including a career high three sacks for minus 21 yards.

 

In addition to the Tuesday's television broadcast, the game may also be heard on the Citizens Bank Ohio ISP Sports Network with "Voice of the Bobcats" Russ Eisenstein, Rob Cornelius and Caleb Troop calling all of the action. Airtime is 7 p.m. ET.
