MUNCIE, Ind.-Jordan Fesh carded 38s on both the front and back nines Saturday to lead the Ohio women’s golf team to a share of sixth place after the first round of play at the Cardinal Classic.
Fesh’s 76 placed her in a tie for 18th overall, while Megan Weaver was a shot behind her and is tied for 25th. Erin Cahill and Colleen Lienesch shot 78 (T-31st) and 79 (T-36th), respectively, and Lauren Bergman rounded out the team with an 81 (T-50th).
Ball State’s Kristtini Cain, Eastern Michigan’s Darby Peters and Grand Valley State’s Allie Taylor are tied atop the leaderboard with a 1-under 71.
As a team, Ohio finished the first day with a 310 total on the par-72, 6,248-yard course, 17 shots behind the host Cardinals’ 293.
Competition will conclude Sunday.
