INDIANAPOLIS - Junior Chad Warmbein turned in his second-straight round at even par on Friday to pace the Ohio University men's golf team to a nine-over-par 297 in the third round of the Mid-American Conference Championship, placing the Bobcats in fourth place with a total of 890 (+26) heading into the final day of play.
Warmbein (McMurray, Pa.) shot an even-par 72 in the third round on the strength of five birdies, while playing the last seven holes of the day at two under par. He will enter Saturday's final round in a tie for eighth place with a total of 219 (+3), just three strokes off the pace of a top-five finish.
Junior Stewart Jamieson (Worthington, Ohio) carded a three-over 75 on Friday to finish the day in a tie for 15th place with a score of 222 (+6), while freshman John Mlynarski (St. Michaels, Md.) posted a third-round 76 (+4) to enter the clubhouse in a tie for 24th with a tally of 225 (+9). Junior Tim Gusweiler (Loveland, Ohio) and sophomore Chuck Nettles (McMurray, Pa.) shot 74 (+2) and 76 (+4), respectively, on day three to earn shares of 30th (227, +11) and 34th (228, +12).
The final round of the MAC Championship will be contested on Saturday, with tee times scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. ET.
