INDIANAPOLIS - Sophomore Chuck Nettles posted the best round of the weekend by an Ohio player to lead the Bobcats to a final-round 293 (+5) on Saturday and a fourth-place finish at the Mid-American Conference Championship with a total of 1,183 (+31).
The Bobcats' four-round effort this weekend in Indianapolis marked the third-best 72-hole score in program history.
Junior Chad Warmbein (McMurray, Pa.), who was named to the All-MAC second team following the tournament, shot a three-over 75 on Saturday to finish in a tie for 13th with a total of 294 (+6). Warmbein rolled in three birdies on the day, bringing his total to 12 birdies and a pair of eagles for the weekend.
Nettles (McMurray, Pa.) turned in the best round of his career on Saturday, carding a 69 (-3) to best his previous personal best by two strokes and move from a tie for 34th into a share of 19th with a total of 297 (+9). A four-over 76 in the final round left junior Stewart Jamieson (Worthington, Ohio) just one stroke away from the top-20, placing him in a tie for 21st with a score of 298 (+10), while freshman John Mlynarski (St. Michaels, Md.) shot 75 (+3) on the final day of competition to tie for 25th with a total of 300 (+12). Junior Tim Gusweiler (Loveland, Ohio) wrapped up the tournament with his second-consecutive round of 74 (+2) to tie for 30th with a mark of 301 (+13).
