Women's Golf in Ninth at EKU Spring Invitational

RICHMOND, Ky. - Junior Colleen Lienesch turned in a career-best score in the second round of the Eastern Kentucky Spring Invitational on Saturday to lead the Ohio University women's golf team to a ninth-place standing after 18 holes of play with a score of 636 (+60).

After posting an 83 in the morning round, Lienesch (Centerville, Ohio) rebounded with a one-over 73 in the second session to finish the day in a tie for 17th place with a total of 156 (+12). The second-round effort eclipsed her previous career high by five strokes and tied for the third-best second-round score in the field.

Senior Lindsay Bergman (Blacklick, Ohio) wrapped up the first day of play in a tie for 26th with a 14-over 158, while freshman Megan Weaver (Canton, Ohio) fired a 160 (+16) to tie for 37th and sophomore Erin Cahill (Hilliard, Ohio) carded a 164 (+20) to claim a share of 61st place. Sophomore Jordan Fesh (Toledo, Ohio) rounded out the Ohio lineup with a 165 (+21) to tie 64th place after 18 holes of play.

The Bobcats will wrap up action at the EKU Spring Invitational on Sunday, with the final round slated for a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start.
