Final results
FAIRLAWN, Ohio - The Ohio University women's golf team used a final-round 321 (+33) on Tuesday to claim a fifth-place finish at the Zippy Invitational, while both senior Lindsay Bergman and sophomore Jordan Fesh achieved personal milestones on the day.
The Bobcats, who finished the two-day event with a team total of 974 (+110), carded the third-best round in the field on Tuesday en route to their highest tournament finish since also placing fifth at the 12-team Falcon Invitational in April of 2007.
Lindsay Bergman (Blacklick, Ohio) posted a final-round 80 on Tuesday to secure a tie for 10th place, marking her first top-10 finish as a Bobcat. She capped the tournament with a three-round total of 238 (+22) to better her previous career-best 54-hole score by six strokes.
Fesh (Toledo, Ohio) turned in the best 18-hole score of her collegiate career on Tuesday, shooting a four-over 76 to move into sole possession of 19th place with a career-best total of 241 (+25). The performance also marked the first top-20 finish of Fesh's career.
Junior Lauren Bergman (Blacklick, Ohio) finished up with an 85 on Tuesday to take a share of 26th place with a total of 249 (+33), while freshman Megan Weaver (Canton, Ohio) shot an 80 (+8) to tie for 31st (251, +35) and junior Colleen Lienesch (Centerville, Ohio) wrapped up the tournament in a 45th-place tie (257, +41) after a final-round 88 (+16).
Ohio will wrap up its fall season next week at the Lady Herd Fall Classic, hosted by Marshall at Sleep Hollow Golf & Country Club in Hurricane, W.Va.
