Ohio vs. No. 14 Middle Tennessee Quotes
Sept. 18, 2008
Convocation Center - Athens, Ohio

Head Coach Ryan Theis
On playing the team's first match at home:
It's really fun here and I didn't fully understand the energy until our team started warming up today. The band is terrific, the fans kept coming in, and it just kept getting better and better as the match went on. It's fun to be home. We love our home crowd.

On beating a ranked team:
Our goal is to continue to improve and we're really happy that this weekend we were able to get two quality opponents to play here. We'll continue to feed off that.

On tomorrow's match against Tulane:
Tomorrow's match will be equally difficult if not harder. It's a very good team and a more experienced team probably than Middle Tennessee. We'll have our hands full.

On the key to winning tonight's match:
I think that (assistant coach) Kyle (Weindel) did a great job with the scouting report. Our block was right on them and Kyle was signaling what we needed to be blocking. Blocking was the key. Every time we serve, pass and block we're going to do well.

On the play of Meghan Simons and Ellen Herman:
Meghan and Ellen, the last seven matches now, have really stepped up and led us. Meghan's hitting efficiency is through the roof. Ellen will be there all year. We'll move her around and find ways to get her kills.

On the play of Sarah Petrulis:
She started out the year serving awesome. When we went on the road she broke down a little bit, but that's the kind of serve we need all year, hopefully at home and on the road. She's got it in her to score long strings of points.
